Rita Mae Brown said that “insanity is doing the same thing over and over again but expecting different results”. By that definition Max is quite mad. We were sitting today, playing with his stacking cups. He took one of the cups and set it upside down on the floor between his legs, but the way he was sitting his pant leg was in the way and he set the cup on his pants at an angle and it fell over. So he tried again, putting the cup in the exact same place with the exact same result. Over and over. And over and over and over. I was beginning to despair when he reached for another cup and set it upside down on the other side of his leg. This one was flat on the floor and stayed where he put it. Then he went back to the original cup and set it down clear of his pant leg and it sat correctly. He then proceeded to stack the cups as though nothing had happened, and I guess nothing had. All that happened was that my boy figured something out. There may be hope for him, yet!
Oh, and he ate chocolate for the first time today. Isabel made a special brownie for him with goat’s milk butter. It tastes a little odd but the little one didn’t mind!
